During the Salone del Mobile in April, I had the great opportunity to dine at the Lapin Kulta Solar Kitchen Restaurant at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan (see previous post). The pop-up restaurant was presented as a preview to the Helsinki opening, which happened earlier this month.
The concept of the restaurant was a join collaboration between Catalan designer Martí Guixé and Finnish food visionary Antto Melasniemi. The restaurant is fully powered by (and therefore dependent on) solar energy, so the amount of sunshine each day will determine the menu of the day. Check out the photos of the restaurant in Helsinki.
