I recently discovered these sleek Libratone Zipp speakers from Denmark. Although it somehow reminds me of the Bose SoundDock speaker that I already own – but with a much sleeker design with the Italian wool covers, and without the wires. These speakers transmit music wirelessly, even without a WiFi network enabled, as the speakers themselves come with their own “WiFi network”, so all you need to do is connect to that network and you’re ready to use AirPlay to play music from your iPod, iPhone or iPad – or even iTunes on a PC.
Simply charge the speakers, pick them up and take them anywhere. The patented FullRoom™ technology is supposed to give 360-degree sound effects, but I have yet to try it out. Anyone who already has one let me know how it is!
Speakers come in Salty Grey, Pepper Black, Pineapple Yellow, Raspberry Red, Passion Pink, Plum Purple, Petrol Blue and Icy Blue. Sells for $399 / €399 for a single speaker with one cover, or $449 / €449 for a single speaker with a three-cover bundle.
Libratone also offers two other speakers: Libratone Live and Libratone Lounge, both wireless speakers with wired capability.
